The ᴍɪʀᴀᴄʟᴇ Mum Has Given Birth To Four Babies In ᴊᴜsᴛ 11 Months. Becky John, of Swansea, thought it would be nice for her baby daughter Mya to have a similarly aged sibling to play with and decided to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ child with her partner Jason Evans. But she ʜᴀᴅɴ’ᴛ ʙᴀʀɢᴀɪɴᴇᴅ for Fᴀʟʟɪɴɢ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with not one, but three, babies.
The triplets were born in January ᴊᴜsᴛ 11 months after Miss Johns had given birth to Mya. Johns said: ” We had decided to try for ᴊᴜsᴛ one more baby. Kayla was ᴏʟᴅᴇʀ, so I wanted Mya to have company as she ɢʀᴇᴡ ᴏʟᴅᴇʀ. We thought it may take a while for me to get ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ, so we started trying straight away. But then ᴊᴜsᴛ a couple of weeks later I did a ᴛᴇsᴛ and the ᴛᴡᴏ ʙʟᴜᴇ ʟɪɴᴇs came up on the test. It must have ᴏɴʟʏ ᴛᴀᴋᴇɴ a week for me to Fᴀʟʟ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. I had to stare at the screen ᴊᴜsᴛ to make sure for myself. And I counted the ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙᴇᴀᴛs one by one. It was true I was actually ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with triplets. They were all ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟʟʏ ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ and they were each from ᴀ sᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴇɢɢ, which is really ʀᴀʀᴇ. Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs told us it was the ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜɪᴇsᴛ way to have triplets, because they all had ᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇɴᴛᴀ ᴇᴀᴄʜ, it meant there was ɴᴏ ʀɪsᴋs ᴀssᴏᴄɪᴀᴛᴇᴅ with any one of them sʜᴀʀɪɴɢ ᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇɴᴛᴀ. When we told our friends and family, people thought we were joking. Jason’s a bit of a joker, so ɴᴏ ᴏɴᴇ took him seriously when he told them. Even when he showed his sister the scan picture of all three triplets together, she still ᴡᴀsɴ’ᴛ ᴄᴏɴᴠɪɴᴄᴇᴅ.”
John’s ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏprogressed smoothly and she had ʀᴇɢᴜʟᴀʀ sᴄᴀɴs to check the babies were growing well. She said: “We nicknamed them Snap, Crackle and Pop. It was lovely to feel them all moving around. Everyone kept asking us what they were going to be called and we ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ have any idea, so Jason nicknamed them, and the names stuck!”. The triplets were ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ by ᴄᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ at the end of January when Miss Johns was 34 weeks ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. She said: “I was so ʜᴜɢᴇ by that time I could ʙᴀʀᴇʟʏ ᴍᴏᴠᴇ and Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ɢᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ᴏᴜᴛ ɪɴ ᴄᴀsᴇ I went into ʟᴀʙᴏᴜʀ ᴇᴀʀʟʏ. If I went into ʟᴀʙᴏᴜʀ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟʟʏ, then it could ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴀsᴇ the ʀɪsᴋ of things ɢᴏɪɴɢ ᴡʀᴏɴɢ. And we ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ want that to happen, so I was booked in for my ᴄᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ. I was ɴᴇʀᴠᴏᴜs when I went in, but ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇ to meet my three new arrivals.”
Ryan weighed 4lb 12oz, Raya weighed in at 4lb 3oz, and Phoebe at 4lb 11oz – all healthy weights. John’s was ᴊᴜsᴛ so relieved they were all healthy and well. They were only in ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ for about six weeks and were allowed home. John was ᴡᴏʀʀɪᴇᴅ how she would manage with so many babies, but now she couldn’t be happier with her newest additions. She had to get a four seater pram because Mya had her first birthday when the triplets were only two weeks old. When sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀs stop to see the four of them, they can’t believe that I had four babies in less than a year.
John’s said :”Kayla is thrilled with her three new brothers and sisters and its lovely to think that Mya and the triplets will grow up so close ɪɴ ᴀɢᴇ.”
