A 22-year-old mum ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ believe just how much her baby daughter looks like a ᴍɪɴɪ Boris Johnson – and it seems Sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀs ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ either, as they ᴋᴇᴇᴘ sᴛᴏᴘᴘɪɴɢ her on the street to point out the resemblance. Bethany Jeeves, 22, from March, Cambridgeshire, was sᴛᴜɴɴᴇᴅ when five-month-old Lottie Craigie was born with a sʜᴏᴄᴋ of long, thick sɪʟᴠᴇʀʏ ʜᴀɪʀ that ᴍɪᴅᴡɪᴠᴇs admired while she was in ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ. Bethany sᴜsᴘᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ her baby would have good locks during ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ ᴅᴜᴇ ᴛᴏ sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙᴜʀɴ, which some think is a sɪɢɴ an ᴜɴʙᴏʀɴ ᴄʜɪʟᴅ is already well on its way to a ꜰᴜʟʟ ʜᴇᴀᴅ ᴏꜰ ʜᴀɪʀ.
But she was sᴛᴜɴɴᴇᴅ when Lottie was born in February with a ʙᴀʀɴᴇᴛ that ᴍɪᴅᴡɪᴠᴇs said was the best they’d ever seen. Since then ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ Lottie’s do has taken on a life of its ᴏᴡɴ and regardless of what 22-year-old mum Bethany does to it – including wetting, washing and brushing it – it sᴛɪᴄᴋs ᴜᴘ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɪʀ. This ᴜɴʀᴜʟʏ ᴍᴏᴘ of ʙʟᴏɴᴅᴇ ʜᴀɪʀ ᴄᴀᴜsᴇs Bethany to be sᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇᴅ every time she leaves the house with admiring passers-by flocking round her ᴘʀᴀᴍ ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛɪɴɢ on how Lottie’s do is just like the ⓅⓂ’ⓢ. Bar worker Bethany, who is currently on maternity leave, said she was initially taken aback when her ⒼⓅ first made the ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀʀɪsᴏɴ during one of Lottie’s ᴄʜᴇᴄᴋ-ᴜᴘs, but concedes she’s now used to it. Even Lottie’s big sister, two-year-old Mia Craigie is getting in on the act, telling everyone she meets ‘my sister looks like Boris Johnson’.

She said: “I ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ even leave the house without someone sᴛᴏᴘᴘɪɴɢ me in the street, commenting on her hair and saying she looks like a ᴍɪɴɪ Boris. I think it’s because her hair is so blonde, it’s so light, and it’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ – it goes wherever it wants. Babies ɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟʟʏ ʟᴏsᴇ some hair but it just got thicker and longer. That’s when it started to stick up and the ‘baby Boris’ ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛs started. I didn’t know what to do with her hair at first. I’d wet it, wash it, brush it and it would still sᴛɪᴄᴋ ᴜᴘ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɪʀ. It was getting longer and longer and it would just stick up, it was getting to the point I was having to spend more time on her hair than my own. The first person that made the Boris Johnson ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀʀɪsᴏɴ was the ⒼⓅ when I took her in for her ᴄʜᴇᴄᴋ-ᴜᴘ. When he made the comment I sat there like ‘oh, ok’. As she’s a girl I was a bit touchy but it was meant in a light-hearted way. The more and more people started saying it you get used to it so now I just reply ‘yeah I know’. Even my two-year-old caught on to what everyone else was saying, now she tells everyone ‘my sister looks like Boris Johnson’.”

She added :” Obviously I ᴅᴏɴ’ᴛ think she looks like Boris because she’s my daughter, but I do get why people make the comparison, it ᴅᴏᴇsɴ’ᴛ ꜰᴀᴢᴇ ᴍᴇ anymore. I wouldn’t change anything about her hair for the world.”
