Mum’s Was Shock As Baby Daughter Is Born With A Tooth

Most babies start teething at around six months, but Little Avery astounded ɴᴜʀsᴇs and ᴍɪᴅᴡɪᴠᴇs at Blackpool Victoria Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ with her pearly white incisors. Bethany, 18, didn’t realise she was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ until she was six or seven months, so the last few months have been a ᴡʜɪʀʟᴡɪɴᴅ.

When Bethany Green welcomed her baby daughter into the world, she was over the moon and completely in love. But ᴍɪᴅᴡɪᴠᴇs quickly noticed something a bit ᴜɴᴜsᴜᴀʟ about the newborn, she had a tooth growing from her botton gum . A ᴍɪᴅᴡɪᴠᴇ when she came out said she looks like she’s got a tooth.  She said :”The ᴍɪᴅᴡɪᴠᴇs had never seen a baby with teeth before. Teeth that a child is born with are known as ɴᴀᴛᴀʟ teeth. Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs say they ᴏᴄᴄᴜʀ in about one in every 2,000 to 3,000 babies.”

Pʀᴏꜰᴇssᴏʀ Rɪᴄʜᴀʀᴅ Wᴇʟʙᴜʀʏ, ʜᴏɴᴏʀᴀʀʏ ᴄᴏɴsᴜʟᴛᴀɴᴛ in ᴘᴀᴇᴅɪᴀᴛʀɪᴄ ᴅᴇɴᴛɪsᴛʀʏ at Uclan, said: “In ᴘᴀᴇᴅɪᴀᴛʀɪᴄ ᴅᴇɴᴛɪsᴛʀʏ, it’s quite common for us to get calls from ɴᴇᴏɴᴀᴛᴀʟ units to say there’s a child born with a tooth. They are usually part of the normal quota of baby teeth , but in ʀᴀʀᴇ ᴄᴀsᴇs they may be extra teeth. We do all we can to keep them and help them to mature as normal milk teeth . There are three reasons why we would take them out. The first is that they would be a ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ to the baby’s ᴀɪʀᴡᴀʏ. They usually develop in the lower gums and have little ʀᴏᴏᴛ sᴛʀᴜᴄᴛᴜʀᴇ, meaning they are often wobbly. They may be very ʟᴏᴏsᴇ and there would be a ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ that they could come ʟᴏᴏsᴇ and go into the baby’s ʟᴜɴɢs. The second reason is they could ᴜʟᴄᴇʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴜɴᴅᴇʀsɪᴅᴇ of the baby’s ᴛᴏɴɢᴜᴇ. And the reason three they can also ɪɴᴊᴜʀᴇ the baby’s ᴛᴏɴɢᴜᴇ when it is ʙʀᴇᴀsᴛꜰᴇᴇᴅɪɴɢ and can cause a ʙʀᴇᴀsᴛꜰᴇᴇᴅɪɴɢ mother ᴘᴀɪɴ. ”

Mom Bethany said she was born with the tooth coming out a little bit, and now who is now four weeks old, has a fully grown milk tooth and already has her fist trip to the ᴅᴇɴᴛɪsᴛ in the diary. Bethany, who is now juggling motherhood with studying a ꜰᴏᴜɴᴅᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴄᴏʟʟᴇɢᴇ course in early years learning and a waitressing job, has decided to ʙᴏᴛᴛʟᴇ-ꜰᴇᴇᴅɪɴɢ her baby. Bethany added:” She’s a quiet baby. She only really cries when she’s hungry. She sleeps most of the day. She is still expected to grow a full set of baby teeth . My Family love her. They’re very proud.”
