One mom in Australia has given birth a baby girl at 12 pounds, nine ounces. Yes, you read that correctly, in October, emma Millar birthed a nearly 13-pound child. And since her birth, Millar and her husband Daniel Millar have given their daughter, who they named Remi Frances Millar, the ɴɪᴄᴋɴᴀᴍᴇ ‘ᴍɪɴɪ Sᴜᴍᴏ ᴡʀᴇsᴛʟᴇʀ.’ Come on, just look at those cheeks.
Emma and Daniel Millar welcomed Remi Frances Millar at Wollongong Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ, south of Sydney, on Monday via ᴇᴍᴇʀɢᴇɴᴄʏ ᴄᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ. While an average australian baby weighs just 7.27lb, Ms Millar gave birth to Remi at 12.96lb when she was 38 weeks’ and two days ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. Remi has become one of the 1.2 ᴘᴇʀᴄᴇɴᴛ of newborn who ᴡᴇɪɢʜɪɴɢ more than 9.92ʟʙ.
The couple knew they would be giving birth to a larger-than-average baby due to Ms Millar’s ɢᴇsᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ ᴅɪᴀʙᴇᴛᴇs, but she told the Remi’s sɪᴢᴇ was a surprise. The 27-year-old mother said:”She’s like a ᴍɪɴɪ Sᴜᴍᴏ ᴡʀᴇsᴛʟᴇʀ.” When Remi was just 35 weeks, an ᴜʟᴛʀᴀsᴏᴜɴᴅ revealed she weighed a 4kg, but Mr and Ms Millar didn’t expect her to grow any more. Millar had already decided to have a ᴄᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ after giving birth to Ace, but she had to ᴜɴᴅᴇʀɢᴏ an ᴇᴍᴇʀɢᴇɴᴄʏ ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ when her ᴡᴀᴛᴇʀs ʙʀᴏᴋᴇ ᴇᴀʀʟʏ.
Staff at Wollongong Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ admitted Remi was probably the ʜᴇᴀᴠɪᴇsᴛ newborn at the facility, and Mr Millar said his daughter is causing a stir. Remi now something of a star at the ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ. Emma laughing that staff and other parents and visitors often marvel at her sɪᴢᴇ when Emma walks her around the ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ. Remi isn’t the first large baby born into the Millar family their two year old daughter Willow was born at 5.5kg. Their four year old son, Ace, was also born sʟɪɢʜᴛʟʏ ʟᴀʀɢᴇʀ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴀᴠᴇʀᴀɢᴇ at 3.8kg.
Now baby sister Remi has taken the title of Millar family’s biggest bub, but her siblings aren’t too concerned, Emma revealing that they “just adore” their new baby sister.
