A Mum To ᴍɪʀᴀᴄᴜʟᴏᴜsʟʏ Fᴀʟʟ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ With Triplets Just Four Months After Her First

A mum who sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇᴅ to have kids naturally managed to ᴍɪʀᴀᴄᴜʟᴏᴜsʟʏ Fᴀʟʟ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ  with triplets just four months after her first baby.

Vickie O’Donnell and Jamie O’Donnell from Abercynon, ᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇᴅ to have a baby for years because of ᴘᴏʟʏᴄʏsᴛɪᴄ ᴏᴠᴀʀʏ sʏɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇ . She had been ᴜɴᴀʙʟᴇto have kids with her husband Jamie ᴅᴜᴇ to her ᴘᴏʟʏᴄʏsᴛɪᴄ ᴏᴠᴀʀʏ sʏɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇ. But thanks to some ʜᴏʀᴍᴏɴᴀʟ ʜᴇʟᴘ, the couple were finally given the great news they were expecting ‘ᴍɪʀᴀᴄʟᴇ baby’ Phoenix, who was born last year. But the couple were in for a further surprise when they went to their 12 week sᴄᴀɴ ᴇᴀʀʟɪᴇʀ this year, and ᴅɪsᴄᴏᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ they were having triplets.

Recollecting the moment she was told she was expecting triplets, Vickie said: “I was sᴄʀᴇᴀᴍɪɴɢ. At first the woman said it was twins, and I said ‘I think you should look again because if it is twins what is the other one?’ And I was just sobbing.” The triplets – girls Rhubie-Ann Rose and Violet Mary and boy Tarney -were born at 33 weeks on June 16 at CᴀʀᴅɪFF’s Uɴɪᴠᴇʀsɪᴛʏ Hᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ᴏF Wᴀʟᴇs, seven weeks before their ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ in August – weighing 4lb 5oz, 4lbs 1oz and 4lb 2oz, respectively. Mɪʀᴀᴄᴜʟᴏᴜsʟʏ, despite being ʙᴏʀɴ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴀ ᴍᴏɴᴛʜ ᴘʀᴇᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ, all babies are well and healthy and did not require any ᴇxᴛʀᴀ ʜᴇʟᴘ ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜɪɴɢ – ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴄʟᴇᴀʀɪɴɢ ᴏF ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴀɪʀᴡᴀʏs. Vickie, 27, said: “It is ᴍᴀᴅ to think that this time last year I was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with Phoenix and now I have four babies. It was Jamie’s first Father’s Day on Sunday, Phoenix was still in ᴍʏ ʙᴇʟʟʏ last year, and now they’re all here! He was beaming, he was like ‘How many men can say they have got four babies’. It was meant to be, I absolutely love it.”

She added :”They are doing amazing and they are such good weights, even though they are tiny they are doing so well. They are starting bottle feeds now, hopefully it won’t be long and they can come home” Just over a month, Vickie and Jamie were parents to four babies under the age of one. While it feels ‘like a conveyer belt at times’, mum Vickie said she loves her new parenting life and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. Vickie opened up about the difficulties of raising four little ones under the same roof. She said: “I would say the ʜᴀʀᴅᴇsᴛ ᴘᴀʀᴛ is when all four of them want feeding at the same time. So if the three babies are unsettled and want a feed, and Phoenix wants his dinner, that is ᴅᴇFɪɴɪᴛᴇʟʏ ᴄʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢɪɴɢ. And I don’t like to hear them crying, that makes me worked up then, that can be quite challenging, but I am never on my own. I am always with my mam or if she has popped out she is always close by. We live with my mam and my dad, they are our sᴜᴘᴇʀ ʜᴇʀᴏᴇs.”

Transporting all four children is ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ᴄʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢᴇ the family face and Vickie admitted it ᴛᴀᴋᴇs ʜᴇʀ ᴀɢᴇs to get the whole gang into the car. Vickie said:”We have a seven seater, so its Phoenix in the back, the triplets in the middle and me and Jamie in the front. People see us walking towards them with the pram and you can see their faces glowing thinking ‘look it’s twins’! Then they see the third baby and they’re like ‘Oʜ ᴍʏ Gᴏᴅ, it is triplets! I honestly have no idea how many nappies we get through. The babies are all in ᴅɪFFᴇʀᴇɴᴛ sɪᴢᴇs ᴛᴏᴏ, so we have about three boxes on the go at any time. I absolutely love it though, I honestly would not change it for the world.”
